This cozy bed and breakfast is located out of San José in a neighborhood that used to be the high class area of the ancient capital city.
It was originally one house that has been growing into another house (That used to be next to the original one) and its exotic patio. It is walking distance from San José, but unless you are walking in the day I wouldn’t recommend to walk in that area at night. (As usual in San Jose).
The hotel is, as I said, mainly, very cozy. All rooms are different. Each one has its own style and it makes you feel as you are visiting someone that has a beautiful well-cared and clean house. Full of details Aranjuez makes you feel definitely at home.
It is NOT a luxurious hotel. As I said… is cozy, and bed and breakfast style.
The staff is very nice and sweet, you can easily meet the owners and they all know you by name.
The breakfast is not huge. Is the usual in Costa Rica with some pancakes on the side… a lot of great fruit though! And you can always go for a great meal in San Jose downtown… $5 taxi ride and you are there in five minutes.
Hotel Aranjuez is a great place to stay if you are traveling solo and want to feel welcomed and safe. Also great as for the first and last night in Costa Rica or for a business trip. Cozy enough as to be romantic, it would have to require a simple life style taste to be an ideal place for honeymooners, but! Can be done!
