This is a hotel where I have stayed at several times. It is clean, sleek, well-kept and the staff is really helpful. To say it in one word, the Arenal Springs is nice.
The first thing that you get about the hotel, is that is a bit out of the way, but as you get into it you feel so close to the volcano as so welcome that this feeling totally disappears. They welcome you with a fruit cocktail and as you check in they take you and your luggage to one of their villas, they show you around and there you are, in a beautiful garden contemplating nature magnificence.
They have two types of rooms: the Junior Suites: Very nice! Good space, two queen sized beds (Or a King size), tv screen, safe, coffee maker, a minibar, a good size bathroom and a closet.
The other type are the master suites which are amazing! Especially if you are traveling with the whole family!
These Master Suites offer: 2 bedrooms, one with a king size and the other one with two queen beds, and 2 sofa beds, indoor and outdoor showers! 2 tv screens, 2 hammocks, 2 bath tubs, a full size terrace with volcano view, sofas, two closets, coffee maker, hair dryer and a full size rock natural hot springs Jacuzzi! What a place!
The hot springs area is also fantastic. Very large and with a combination of hot, warm and cold pools is an area you want to spend time on. They have a great bar and a sushi restaurant.
Talking about the restaurant: Breakfast is really good, a great variety of pastries and breads, delicious omelets, and of course the unavoidable gallo pinto, sour cream and tortillas. Very good coffee, fruits and juices. In terms of the other meals, the quality is very good, although it can be a bit pricey.
The grounds are great, if you are into bird watching this is a great place to practice some… So many hummingbirds! Flowers and butterflies are everywhere as well!
The staff is excellent… All of them, from reception to house maids, from bell boys to gardeners, they give you an easy smile, directions or a helping hand any time! And amazingly, every time I’ve come back… they do remember me… and the kids!
Arenal Springs is a great choice among the mid-priced hotels of the Arenal area, clean and nice, it offers everything a couple, a family with kids, or a solo traveler can look for!
