One of the things I truly enjoy about the all-inclusive hotels is the almost unlimited luxury… However I must say, that when you pick an All Inclusive you miss the country you are going to. Everything is there… therefore you don’t have to go out to dine, or even take tours (So many activities usually!)… But among the NON all inclusive hotels, there are some that show the same unlimited abundance… And Arenas is on the top of my list for that!
Let’s talk about it little by little as there is so much to write about:
The rooms. Not only big, but beautiful, soft and comfy linens. But that is not what conquers my heart in Arenas… It is the sound of the waves, permanent and peaceful!
As Arenas has a secluded little beach right in front. And it is totally surrounded by rainforest… And that is absolutely what some people gets confused about when talking about Costa Rica… Costa Rica’s beaches are nice, but the fact of being in a luxurious hotel, right in the jungle, with monkeys and sloths around and having the ocean in front is definitely the Costa Rican privilege! If this means a few bugs… I am willing to pay the price!
Grounds and amenities: Arenas Del Mar is simply wonderful. Arenas is more beautiful than any picture could take. There is rainforest all around you, and totally secluded beach (In Costa Rica there are no private beaches, but the access to this one is only through sharp rocks) right below you. Contrasting the usual touristy places, Arenas Del Mar makes it a point to leave the jungle natural. And this is the reason why the wildlife is continually comfortable coming to the hotel, which creates an awesome experience for the guests!
Staff: As everywhere in Costa Rica the staff is always smiling and nice: They really get out of the way to help you and walk the extra mile for you to feel welcome and happy! The golf cart drivers especially were amazing! Very patient with the kids and really sweet at all times.
Swimming pools and beaches: Arenas Del Mar has 2 swimming pools that are stunning, a secluded beach, and access with towel service to Espadilla Beach at Manuel Antonio.
Tortillas with Mama Eli. Do not skip this experience! My family and I, we thought we’d try this cooking lesson because it was complimentary. It is so cool! The tortillas are really delicious, Mama Eli cooks for the entire staff at Arenas Del Mar, and taught us how to make the tortillas she’s been preparing since she was a child!
Again, and as I said, Arenas del Mar combines luxury, beauty, wildlife and Costa Rican culture… All in one! It is an amazing hotel to stay and to simply sit there and hear the waves, the jungle noises and the peacefulness of it all is a gift to life itself!
Don’t miss this chance of the intensity of Costa Rica’s pure life!.
