Costa Rica Wedding Destination
The Best Places to get hitched
in Costa Rica...
All of Costa Rica is lush and romantic, but there are some hot spots that you might want to consider!
What's Your Ultimate Dream Destination for a Wedding?
The Mountains
Arenal and Monteverde are two amazing destinations to consider. Arenal is
an active volcano (don't worry, it's safe!) and the area is filled with hot springs, butterfly gardens and brilliant waterfalls. Some of the most luxurious hotels
(especially spas with every treatment imaginable including volcanic wraps and exotic restorations) are located here. Without a doubt, Arenal is a popular destination
and planning such a wedding should be done in way ahead of time.
Monteverde is close to Arenal (not more than a few hours away through incredible jungle-wrapped mountains) and is home to the Monteverde
Cloud Forest, one of the most ecologically diverse locations in the world. With hundreds of eco-tours in the area, it's no wonder honeymooners and wedding planners
pick Monteverde as the ultimate eco-destination in Costa Rica.

With two coasts (the Pacific and Carribean) and hundreds of gorgeous beaches (and hotels with incredible views), Costa Rica beach regions remain one of the most
sought after locations to get married! Here are some of the more exotic or luxurious beaches.
Drake Bay: still consider a touch out of the way, Drake Bay is not the typical tourist destination, yet is a wonderful place because of some of
the more boutique hotels and spotless beaches. For those that love to scuba or dive, this hosts the offshore realm of Cano
Island, a diver's paradise. It is also
home to the amazing Corcovado National Park.
Playa Flamingo: One of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica.
It is a pristine location, with crystal clear waters and unspoiled beach and a dazzling array of marine life. A variety of water sports can be found here, including
deep sea sport fishing, scuba diving, and surfing. There are also numerous private vacation homes here for extended stays (or honemoons!)
Mal Pais: Located on the tip of the Nicoya Peninsula, Mal Pais/Santa Teresa is a very small community scattered along the pale, gold beaches with a beautiful backdrop
of green vegetation. This is also home to some of the most incredible vacation rentals in the country.
Manuel Antonio: Manuel Antono and Quepos are perhaps a little more popular than we would normally suggest to have a wedding, but there is so much
fun to have! There are certainly a number of hotels that could host your wedding, and with dozens of adventure tours out of the area,
it could be the place for you!
Nosara: This area has become increasingly popular amongst traveling surfers as it offers a more laid back, relaxed atmosphere than its bustling neighbor
to the north, Tamarindo, while boasting world class surf almost all year.
Puerto Viejo: On the Carribean coast, Puerto
Viejo is an ideal location for laid back travelers looking to avoid the more commercialized Pacific coast. Local activities include surfing, snorkeling,
scuba and much more.
Punta Islita is a small cove hidden away from the rest of the world. This is a great destination for those looking for a remote, romantic experience.
The only hotel
here is a 5 star hotel, aptly name Hotel Punta Islita, situated on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Tambor: The village of Tambor is small, fairly remote and offers very beautiful and pristine rainforest/coastline surroundings. You will find this small village
atmosphere to be very welcoming and that your time spent here will be a great experience due to the friendly locals (local and foreigners), the local activities & restaurants
and much more.
Tortuguero: Referred to as the Amazons of Costa Rica, Tortuguero is a navigable network of lakes and canals that crosses the National Park from
Southeast to Northwest. Tortuguero is an ideal destination for eco adventurers and couples looking to witness one of Costa Rica's most unique eco systems.
All lodges provide transportation from San José along with extremely knowledgeable guides.
Tamarindo: Tamarindo is a small beach community that draws beach lovers, scuba divers, nature lovers, sportfishers, and romantic and wedding couples.
Tamarindo lies between two wildlife national parks and consists of one main road upon which lie the variety of hotels, cabinas and restaurants that have arisen due
to increased tourism in the area. This is the quintessential Costa Rica destination, and there are many hotels and retreats from which to book your wedding or romantic
vacation at!
