Introduction

If you're not here for surfing, you're in the wrong place.

Pavones is one of Costa Rica's most famous surf breaks. This area is extremely remote; difficult to get to, but well worth it if are an experienced surfer and want those waves!

Due to its location on the interior of the Golfo Dulce, it is blocked from many swells and can go for weeks with no surf. Moreover, once the swell hits, it is common to see a large crowd of international travelers (+ the protective locals) battling for position.
